HIV or other STDs after intercourse with condom, but just after shaving pube?

Hello,
I (32M) had a one night stand with a woman (42F) around a week ago. She performed unprotected oral sex followed by protected vaginal sex (with brand SKYN condoms). Just a couple of hours before the intercourse I shaved my pubic area

The morning after she told me she usually doesn't use protections, and she drinks a lot and occasionally uses heavy drugs, which got me concerned about her safety and hygiene standards.

I will take a test for HIV, but I am concerned about other STDs as well, could you give me guidance about what are the main risks I've been exposed to and what should I get tested for?

Thank you

As long as the head of your penis was covered, you don't need to worry about gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, NGU, hep B, mycoplasma or trich.

You could get syphilis, herpes type 2 or HPV.

Shaving just prior to sex means that your skin could be irritated or have small tears in it, making you more susceptible to these.

You can test for syphilis at 6 weeks, though syphilis is uncommon in most developed countries, like the US, UK, Canada, places in Europe, etc. If you do have syphilis, you'll get a round, painless sore at the point of infection. You can get the sore between 10 and 90 days, though the average is 3 weeks.

You can test for herpes at 12 weeks, though most are positive by 6 weeks. Make sure it's a type specific IgG blood test. Please note that there are false positives on this test, and sorting that out can take a lot of time, and if you don't get symptoms within 2-12 days, you might not want to test.

There is no test for HPV for men. There is a vaccine for it, though it doesn't stop an infection after.

I wouldn't overly worry about this. You did use a condom, which offers a lot of protection. Even if she doesn't usually use protection, she did with you, and that's what is important.

Hello and thank you, for both the clarification and the reassuring.

This afternoon I had a light fever, after 1 week from the encounter. Could it be related?

I will take the suggested tests in 12 weeks, as suggested.

Is there anyhow any other measure that I should take in the meantime?

Thank you again
Did you actually take your temp, or do you just feel feverish? If you actually had a fever, it is unlikely related to this if it isn't lingering. It could also be totally unrelated. It could be the flu, covid, etc.

You can take tests, if you feel a need to, at 6 weeks. If you don't have symptoms, and are negative at 6 weeks, you can call them conclusive.
