Need Info!

Im a 24 year old male who had 4 small pimple like bumps appear on my penis right below the head on the top side. One is just a bit bigger than the other 3.  They just look like little whiteheads with a bit of redness around them when limp.  They appeared about 4 or 5 months ago and have been the same ever since and never bothered me other than appearance.  They have been the same size and never broke open.  They are not sores and I have had no symptoms or pain.  They are just there.  I went to a doctor and he suggested herpes immediately before I even told him how long they have been there and that they have never scabbed over or caused me any problems.  I have had the same partner for 11 months now and it was 2 months before that since i had another partner and used protection.  I have been sexually active during these 4 months but we quit recently until i got checked out.  I have noticed they are not as noticable when I go a week without sexual activity but have never went more than 2 weeks without so i dont know if they cud be a skin irritation.  Can you please tell me if he was correct to automatically say herpes and do you have any suggestions?  Thank You

Oh there's no need to bump.  I make sure all questions are answered, but it just might not be in the time frame you want.  All the people who answer questions here are doing this on their own time, around jobs, partners, kids, etc.  Read the posting tips for more info on this.  Its the very first topic on the page.

It might be related, but the strains of HPV that cause genital warts aren't the same as the kinds that cause abnormal cells.  Its not uncommon to have more than one kind at a time though.

You just really need to follow up with a doctor about this.  We can only speculate so much.

Mistake.  Not sure if its HPV 1 but it is a type that caused abnormal cell changes

One more question Aj.  My partner did have a pap done and does have an Hpv 1 which caused an abnormal change in cells.  She had that taken care of though a few months ago.  Could this have anything to do with these bumps.  I read on a web site you posted on another topic and it reminded me about that.  Thank You again

And Ive got more help by reading in all the forums on here than I did from my doctor.  He seemed like he just wanted my money for the blood test for herpes.  The results come in next week which is why im worrying but every post ive read on here where bumps stay for more than a month or two seem to always be negative for herpes so thats helped me feel a little better about this.

Thanks for your help.  Sorry for bugging so much.  After reading about some of the other things it could be that are not stds and are just skin conditions or other complications I have no idea.  I was just real freaked out over herpes.  But its just strange because they are the same ones that were there from the beginning and no others have appeared.  I thought the could be papules.

Its not herpes, might be warts.  Could be lots of things, and with bumps, its hard to say over the internet.  :(

Do you have any suggestions on what this could be?  If it were herpes how can they have been here this long without going away or changing much and never hurt or cause any problems?  My partner was checked 6 months ago and it came back negative for herpes.  I have been with her for 11 months as i said.  Am I freaking out over nothing?  Herpes is what I really dont want and thats why im nervous because that doctor only said that and never said it could be anything else.

I'd see another doctor.  You should go to an std clinic - the doctors there should be able to help you.

Thank you for your help.  Do you think I should see a different doctor because my family doctor (the one I went to) didnt seem to know much but just said it was probaly herpes.  I have also nticed a little burn while urinating after sexual activity.  Is this normal?

Your doctor can biopsy these if need be, but its not herpes.
