I am a healthy 35 year old male. I had unprotected oral sex (both giving and receiving), with a transsexual partner (MTF) of unknown STD status 5 days ago and now I have a low grade fever, dry mouth, mildly tender throat, minor flu-like body aches, and white spots on my tonsils reminiscent of tonsillitis/pharyngitis. I have not had any blistering in or around the mouth. My tonsils are swollen and have some white spotting. I have not had any obvious tingling of the lips, there are no red marks or lesions or bumps in my mouth, and there are no genital symptoms. I have had a fever ranging from 99.5 to 100 the last 24 hours.
The oral sex was very brief (less than 1 minute), but unprotected and there was a good deal of kissing involved. There was no visible sign of active outbreak with my partner and a condom was used during anal coitus.
Would I be safe to assume this is early HSV1 or some other STI (oral gonorrhea)? Could it be something worse? When is the earliest possible time to be tested for HSV and oral gonorrhea?
Thanks
