Issue with Urethra?

Hi,

A little over five weeks ago I had unprotected vaginal sex with a girl. It was a mistake. I went to the clinic 2 days later and had a urin test/swab for STIs. The test results came back negative. A short time after the urethra lips on the head of my penis became very red and swollen. Now it feels irritated.I went to the clinic another two times, the first time the doctor said it might be a yeast infection and prescribed me one does of 150mg Fluconazole. This did nothing. The next visit the doctor prescribed me Ketoderm 2% to put on every night before bed. He said to do this for two-six weeks. It is nearing the end of the second week and there is no change.

What could a red urethra be? I'm thinking about it so much I can't tell you whether or not it burns when I urinate or whether or not there is discharge, i'm seeing symptoms everywhere so I cannot be sure. The only thing for sure is that the urethra is very red and irritated.

What should I do? Does this sound serious?

So did you ever find out what it was? Did the symptoms go away? I've been having an irritated urethra as well, primarily around the tip after a sexual exposure from 4 nights ago. The irritation occured about two days after the exposure.

Trauma, sex, masterbration, can cause a red urethra and really is not a sign of STD yes it is possible.
I have the same problem, I was tested  neagtive for all STD except herpes virus 1. My 3 doc said urethra redns not STD...
Your test was too early to detect any infections, Retest again in 4 weeks time of your encounter mostly the test will be accurate. Herpes and HIV after 3 months.

Hi to you too Doctorwho55

Trauma, sex, masterbration, can cause a red urethra and really is not a sign of STD.

What should you do?
You should re-test again for the STDs as you tested too early.   However, this irritation is not a sign of STDs.  An irritated urethra tip does not sound serious.
