Gonorrhea Shot

I received the single dose of 250mg of intramuscular ceftriaxone AND 1g of oral azithromycin and felt relief immediately and no symptoms upon waking the next day,  However as day progressed the symptoms became worse and worse.  Is it normal to feel better and then have relapse which will improve relative to symptoms over time?  Worried about antibiotic resistance
