Mr.

Hi,I am a married male and uncircumcised. My wife does not like to perform oral sex on me so once every 6 months, I recieve oral sex from someone I meet online.Never vaginal sex. I make sure  I clean off right after. 10 days ago, i had kinda rough sex with my wife and woke up to red glans penis. Over the next 3 days it went from small red bumps, forming of a whitish layer and then peeling off of that white layer and the penis returned to normal. My wife complained of slight, burning and itching in the area too. I checked her and the external vagina was slightly red.No discharge. We had sex again and my symptoms reappeared and are healing now after abstinence.. I researched STD pictures online and the closest conclusion I can come to is candida balanitis. My question - Can I have contracted candida infection from  my wife? She never had this infection. Or could this be oppurtunistic infection due to HIV? I am 38, 5'11", 190lbs, very hygenic. No fever, no discharge or any other symptoms. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks !

Hi, last week my wife's obgyn called and said the test she did came out positive for vaginal yeast. We both have been using monistat for week now. After using it for 5-6 days I stopped it. My sysmptoms resolved.I mean they bagan to resolve even before using the cream. 2 days after I stopped, the tiny scattered pin head pimples returned. No discharge, ulcerations, burning urine or anything. Just pinkish red pimples.

I am imagining the worst case scenario here - I received oral sex, got HIV, i am immunocompromised and so the candida infection. Or could be just recurrent/resistant candida.
I dont have any other symptoms though - no fevers, cough, rashes, enlarged lymph nodes etc. I stand 5'11", weigh 195 lbs,( no loss, infact gained abt 5lbs). Please advise !

She says she never got a yeast infection but that is hard to believe. Anytime she ever took an antibiotic she probably got one. Yeast infections are common.

Hi, thanks for the response ! I am not HIV positive. Never been sick.Just trying to figure out if I could have contracted it through receiving oral sex.

Update - my wife went to her gyno for annual exam. Gyno examined her and said she does not see typical symptoms/signs of yeast inf but after she listened to my symptoms( i did not tell her i received oral sex from someone) she said it sounds like an yeast infection that i got from my wife  and asked us both to use Monistat for a week. My symptoms/eruptions have dissapeared and glans penis is back to normal and we are using the monistat.

I read about candida infections and it says that they are common in diabetes, immuno compromised individauas like those with HIV, cancer chemotherapy, and those on antibiotics/steroids.

We both are normal healthy individuals so I am just curious how we got this. My wife says she never got a yeast inf in her life. So, here iam trying to research and doubting the worst possible scenario. Plaese advise. Thanks again !

Why are you trying to related anything to HIV? Are you HIV positive?

As for what is going on, you would need to see a Dr when you have symptoms for an exam. Can't say what this is or might be, but an exam is best way to go.
