No symptoms = no testing?

Hi !

I had received unprotected oral sex in a massage parlor ..

Possible infections:

Gonorrhoea / Syphilis / NGUs

1)I have NO SYMPTOMS so far - so does it mean that I am free from the above STDs ??

2) For Syphilis - if there's no chancre on my penis = FREE FROM SYPHILIS?

Please advise !

Thank you! (:

dear all ...

Thank you for your answers. Sorry for repeating myself here ...

I have unprotected oral sex - where I received it.

I need to get tested for the following STDs though I have no symptoms :

NGU
Syphilis
Gono

And that's all?

nevermind what i said about HSV-2 and HSV-1, as your exposure was unprotected oral sex.

I totally agree with Kdaily;

NOTE: HSV-1 is no big deal most people have this.
Kdaily probably meant to say HSV-2 (If you were infected with HSV-2 the genital sore would probably have appeared by now, but for sure, testing is the only way to know).

You can have an STD and have no symptoms, although your risk was low if you're worried about STDs you can only get tested to know foresure,

If you were infected with syphillis the chancre would appear at the site where the infection occurred.. ie your penis

Gono & NGU-you can test now
Syphillis- 4-6 weeks
HSV1- 4months

Thank you for the prompt replies !

It happened on the 26/5/2010 - so it should be more than 30 days...

I have no symptom so far - hence I thought that I should be free from the STDs / esp Syphilis (where chancre will appear?)

How long ago was this encounter? No symptoms doesn't mean there was no transmission/infection. If it has been more than 30 days from the date of the encounter I would strongly suggest you seek a full STD screening. Most local health departments offer them at very little cost.

1. No the only way to know 100% is from testing.
2. Only way to know for sure is testing.

How long has it been?
