syphylis

Hi

I was treated almost 2 years ago of syphylis and everything went well. 15 days ago I had a risky relatioship with another man and we have mutual oral sex. This is a risk practice and I would like to get tested. How long should I wait? does it matter that I was treated of syphylis before? what's the best test?
thank you very much for your help!

6 week test. Speak to your Dr about testing before hand because from the pervious event you will probably still show positive.

thanks for your answer. Then I guess that there are specific tests to rule out what may show up from the previous event? I guess that just 15 days after potential exposure is a bit too early to get tested, but is it early to start having symptoms like sorethroat, light fever,...

thanks again

Symptom you would have is a canker, on average shows up at 21 days.

I'm not sure if there is a test that could discount previous infection, but at least the Dr would know when it comes back positive if it is an active infection.

Use condoms even for oral and you will not have this concern.
