Mutual masturbation/manual stimulation

Hello, any help appreciated.

Is there any risk of STI / STD for the following:

Engaging in mutual masturbation / manual stimulation with a man (touching each others genitals including the shaft and head and urethra with hands), touching bodies with hands, possible precum involved but no semen/ejaculate while stimulating. Touching own penis after touching theirs. No cuts or wounds visible on hands/sores on genitals but unsure.

Could you please explain the risk, if any of any STI’s/STDs? Could there be a risk of Syphylis from this? The Information on internet is contradicting/misleading, some say yes some say no. What if the syphylis was on their hands in rash form? Would that be possible?

Thank you.

If there were no cuts or wounds (or rash, which you'd have seen) on their hands, there's no risk from mutual masturbation at all.

Here are some posts from our experts (when we had them) that may help -

Thank you, even with regards to the syphylis? Is this ever transmitted from manual stimulation or from hand to body/genital of the hand has a syphilis rash?
Did you read the links already? You couldn't have.

You didn't mention a rash on the hands. I mentioned that you'd see it. If there is no rash, it's not infectious. If there is a rash, it's infectious.

Syphilis is uncommon now in developed countries - the US, UK, Canada, countries in Europe, etc. It's not something I'd worry about. If you are having casual encounters that include oral, vaginal or anal sex, include syphilis in your regular testing, but that's the extent of it.
I have read one of the links and I am making my way through them. Regarding the rash - it was more of a hypothetical. I can’t be sure if there was or wasn’t a rash present.
If you know that there were no cuts or wounds on the hands, you can be pretty confident that there was no rash.

I wouldn't worry about this. You can always test at 6 weeks, but again, it's not something I'd worry about.
Thank you for your help. It’s been a while since the incident but  I’m just a bit paranoid as I have cold/flu like symptoms and fear they could be related but I’m sure they are not. Would you suggest a test or would you say it’s not worth it?
Let’s say there was a rash on their hands, would it be possible to catch symphysis that way?
How long is "a while"?

Syphilis doesn't give you cold/flu symptoms. You'd get a sore on your penis.

I've already said that yes, if there was a rash, you could get it.

If you are concerned, get a bloofd test at 6 weeks. It's a very easy test.
Maybe 5-6 weeks ago. No sore on my penis to speak of.  I have a very dry and quite sore throat. If it was transmitted somewhere else could the sore appear somewhere else? For example the back or another body part if it was transmitted from a different area? With their hands? Or is that very uncommon?
No, it would only be only be on your genitals. The skin on the rest of your body is too thick for the bacteria to penetrate.

Really, just test. You can test accurately now. Just go test. You will not be at peace until you get this confirmed, I suspect, so go get the test.

Loads of things cause a dry and sore throat, not the least of which is dry air from being indoors in the winter. I'm guessing - and you don't have to confirm - that from your name, you might be in London, UK. It's winter. Everyone has the heat on inside, and it's drying.

See a doctor and rule out strep throat, the flu, covid, etc., use a humidifier to sleep with, and get a syphilis test.
Thanks for your help, my first ever sexual encounter was a quite traumatic and has left me paranoid and anxious (as I’m sure you can tell) about
About most encounters. Thanks again.
I'm sorry about that. Have you ever gotten counseling to work through that? It can really help.

Best wishes to you. :)
