Possible recurrence without knowing?

Feb 2010 I contracted Gonn and then PID. I was treated and retested all was good.

I also had Surgery 3yrs prior for Stage IV Endometriosis but this STD clearly made things worse and screwed up my insides.

I went to my specialist and he did an US and it showed fluid in the cul-de-sac. He said he is not sure if its from the endo or PID and now I am so confused.

In Jan I had a pap done and it showed Mild dysplasia with no HPV I still have to be retested in October to see if there are any changes.

My question is, can this be PID if I am not in the excruciating pain that was in when I had it before or is this most likely Endo which can also cause Fluid in the cul-de-sac?

we are trying hard to get the pid and yeast parts removed from the heading since this forum isn't really appropriate for them :(

I put it on the womens first but no one responded. I figured since there was no board for PID and that there is a subform for PID in this forum that I would post it here.

The question is really for women on here that have had PID and if they had free fluid in the cul-de-sac long after they were treated.

I will post somewhere else. Thanks.

honestly this is more of an issue for the women's health forum or the gyn forum than the std forum.

if your gonorrhea was treated properly , no reason to think it's reoccurring. You have had multiple reproductive/pelvic issues unfortunately that complicate your situation. Most likely it's your endo flaring up again and causing your issues :(  follow up on a more appropriate forum for better help/support.

Hi

There is a lot of medical history about you I or we dont' know.  Also we are not doctors here to speculate what happen exactly.   That would take me an hour on pubmed to try and figure things out from a student perspective ---though I am tempted to research this I haven't the time these days... =)

So I'll just give you facts maybe you can discuss it with your doctor.
If you have endo then that means you must have PID, they kinda go together.  Its like saying a post-menopausal woman at age 70 fractures her hip has osteoporosis.   Those things go together.   The cause (weather it was PID from gonorrhea infection or was it another related disorder that lead to endo) isn't really important.  What is important is that you have fluid in a place where there shouldn't be, so talk to your physician and how to treat this or prevent possible infection.

Good luck.
