Question about STD tratment & Stomach

8 weeks ago I got gonorhea from unprotected oral sex with a female. I was treated instantly for all stds with zithro and cefi or something like that. I'm sorry I don't know the exact names but it was one shot and 4 large pills at once. My symptoms were gone the next day. Over the course of the last 8 weeks my stomach has been wiped out. Soft stools, diarhea and different colored stools. Last week I read about taking a possible probiotic to help with the stomach problems. I took one pill on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday of last week. By Friday I had diarhea again like I just took antibiotics. It is now gone, but I still have soft stools and it never looks the same as it did prior to my treatment. Please note that I went back to the clinic yesterday and tested negative for all std's and they even screened my urine and it was negative. Does it just take time for my stomach to go back to normal? Will it ever be normal again? It does not hurt, just soft weird stools. Thank you for your help. -Dan-

It is unrelated to the STD or medication taken. Follow up with your Dr.

Thank you, I'm sure a lot of it has been the stress from the situation.

odds are you are just paying far too much attention to your body at this point ever since receiving the + gonorrhea result.

eat more fiber - it absorbs excess fluid in stool.

No it was a positive test 8 weeks ago and negative for everything yesterday when I followed up. It is not crazy diarrhea anymore just soft stools and they have just never felt right since treatment.

I apologize for my answer, I assumed that 8 weeks later would have nothing to do with it, that it would have worked out of the system by then.

the antibiotics you took do cause diarrhea. you need to take a good probiotic 2x/day for a week or two to counteract the effects.  some folks take longer than others to recover from antibiotic side effects.

did you have a + gonorrhea test or just they just assume you had gonorrhea  based on symptoms so treated you ?

It is unrelated? After everything I have read says that broad spec antibiotics kill off all of you bacteria in your stomach? And also I have never had any stomach related problems before the treatment. Thanks for advice I guess...
