odds are if the doc, who sees lots of genitals every single day, doesn't think it's a big deal, it's just you paying way too much attention to it. even just what underwear you wear and tight clothing can cause the opening to get a little red here and there. you have no other symptoms like pain with urination or itching so I'm totally going with the doc here to be honest.
is urex cap 5 available near you? your wife might want to try that. it's a probiotic with good research behind it to keep the "good" bacteria in her urogenital tract and reduce vaginitis. I'm pretty sure it's still going by that name outside of the US and canada and I assume you are in the UK?

Hi Grace,
Thanks for the reply. My wife and I do suffer from reccurring Thrush. The last couple of weeks I have been using Canesten alot. I've had thrush many times in the past and my meatus was never red. When I have no normal thrush symptoms the meatus is still red. My wife had a course of pessaries from docs which worked for a while but she has thrush symptoms again now. Do you think it could be a tough fungus that wont go away? The docs always says it doesn't look that red and its nothing to worry about. I've given up on them as they just say it will go eventually.
Thanks
you sure this isn't something you usually have but just didn't pay attention to like this before? it was protected sex so you know it wasn't a std from the encounter you had with another partner.
if it had been a fungal issue, odds are by now you would've had a worsening of symptoms.
what do your providers say about the redness when you are seen?

For the benefit of anyone who is searching the forums I have an update which may help. I had another full PCR Urine STD screen test at the end of June which included mycoplasma genitalium and trichomonas which were the two items which the hospital did not check for (NHS does not have the tech at the moment). The results: NEGATIVE. My meatus is still red though. If I get to the bottom of the problem I will update again.
yes, stress and anxiety can cause your symptoms so can antibiotics.. www.medications.com, type in the antibiotic you took and read what everyone has to say about it.

You dont have STD , MOVE ON.
Hi,
thanks for the reply, the simple answer to your question am I nuts is possibly yes, or at least that's how it feels sometimes. I don't normally behave that way, I'm just worried. I'm glad you think this is not STD related but would you be able to answer my questions even if it's a simple yes or no?
Many thanks
Are u nuts? Self medicating is not the way to go. First of all It does not sound std related, you had protected sex, odds are you didn't catch anything. You over prescribed your self, me thinks you took antibiotics for no reason. Anxiety causes a lot of negative reactions to the body. If you ever think you have an std, what makes you think you took the right amount of doses? Just because you think its enough it may not be for you. This was all for nothing. Keep using condoms that's the smartest thing you've done so far.
