STI or just plain sore?

I have been having receptive anal sex with a guy for a few months now. I am on Prep and we don’t always use a condom. He is very large & thick and it takes time & patience when he tops me. This last time I was fine (just a little sore) for a day or two after and thought I may be finally getting used to his size. On the 4th day I was in pain. It hurt to move my bowels, my anus is swollen and very sore, no bleeding that I’ve noticed and had a couple of days of feeling like I had to go constantly, groin feels sore as well. It looks like most STIs take a few weeks to show symptoms if at all. I am only coming up on a week. I’m due for my 90 day STI/HIV testing in January. Just wondering if I should wait it out or go ahead and test now.

Sounds like more of an injury  from the act itself, as what your describing doesnot indicate any std. You might want to see a doctor to make sure all is ok inside your rectal area just as a precation.

I’ve been researching & it sounds alot like proctitis cause by trauma. I don’t have all of the symptoms but enough that I’m leaning towards that. I’ll give it a few days and see if my symptoms improve. Thanks for your reply.
It's a few days later now, and I'd agree that there was some kind of injury. If you aren't better now, I hope you get some medical care.
It’s slowly improving. I have ordered an STI testing kit just to rule that out. If after getting those results I am still having issues, I will be getting checked out by my physician.
Ohh no, if you are only slowly improving, you really should get this checked out by a doctor. By waiting for a kit, and then having to send that back in, and then waiting for the results - over the holidays, no less - you might be 2 more weeks before you get results.

Please consider at least going to an urgent care or a Planned Parenthood (they see men) near you.
