infection after being rimmed -- what is this?

I have been free of STIs to date, although five years ago I got a hand rash called erythema multiforme that apparently is triggered by herpes simplex virus. I also once had the beginning of shingles, and my doctor said it was due to herpes virus in my body, but I've never had any outbreaks (fever blisters on mouth or genitals).

Anyway, I visited a prostitute 9 days ago, she gave me unprotected oral sex and we used a condom for intercourse. She also rimmed me, cleaning the whole area before and after.  Yesterday, I started noticing numerous whitish pustules in the area around the anus and up to my scrotum.  The area is inflamed and sore, and I have had a low grade fever (37.8C) that has subsided with tylenol.  Does this look like herpes, warts, or HPV, or something else? I have no similar problems around my penis, only the area pictured.  I do shave down there, so it is possible to be inflamed follicles, and not a STI?

this pic shows the affected area.

It was type 1 herpes.  she must have had an outbreak on her lips, and it infected my anus.  I had one relapse, but noting since.  Apparently Herpes type 1 doesn't re-appear much in the anal area.  Fully well and smarter now.
When you had the erythema multiforme on your hand, did they ever tell you what type of herpes triggered that?

You're correct - having hsv1 in the genital area often never recurs after the initial outbreak. If it does, it doesn't often. I'm glad you're feeling better. :)
