Hi. I had insertive vaginal sex with a condom. 3 and a half months later I developed a bump on my pubic area. Is it possible for a syphilitic chancre to develop so late? Also I squeezed this bump and it kind of popped like a pimple would. I assume it might be just a deep pimple under the skin. I'm super anxious so I'm not sure. What do you think?
Well, it doesn't look like the photos I found on google which is something that kind of resembles a small crater. And it isn't round. It is more elongated. What I'm worried more is the fact that after it popped, it kind of hardened and stayed that way. I think it is starting to dry up. Thanks for your answer. Do you think that a syphilis chancre could develop approximately 110 days after exposure without any other exposures in the meanwhile?
Again, though, you can find out really easily if you have syphilis with a very simple blood test.
You seem to be very anxious about your encounter. Why not just get tested for everything, and put it behind you? No one online can tell you what you have or don't have - only testing can do that. You've conclusively tested for HIV and hep B. Why not just finish the testing and move on from this?
Thanks. I also have one related question. Is it possible if you get infected with syphilis for a chancre to never appear or a chancre has to be present in a primary infection?
Yes. You are right about the anxiety. At my local clinic they only have an INSTI Multiplex HIV1,2/Syphilis rapid blood test. Is this test okay?
