Dear Docs,
I asked this in the free forum but wanted a professional opinion.
-Mid June I receieved unprotected oral sex outside of my relationship from a female.
-Four days later I had a great deal of unprotected vaginal and oral sex with my regular female partner.
-One week after receiving the oral sex outside I was experiencing some uncomfortable sensitivity around the head of my penis, achiness and some urethra pain while NOT urinating.-
When actually urinating it felt “normal” to me though if I really focus on it I guess there is a very mild sting to it. Anyway, if anything, urinating relieved the pain I was otherwise having.
-I did not detect any discharge, though the tip of my penis often felt “wet” sometimes every time I checked it I found nothing. I wasn’t familiar with “milking” at the time.
-All of this was somewhat sporadic.
-Based on what I read it didn’t seem like an STI to me, nonetheless I went to my doctor’s office and met with a female MD. I explained my symptoms, she said it did not sound like an STI to her, she did not look at my penis. ----MD felt it could be sensitivity and pain due to a weekend of a lot of sex.
-MD suggested I be tested for gonorrhea and chlymdia the following Thursday (15 days after potential exposure, though frankly, I’m a bit fuzzy if it was the following Thursday or Friday or the immediate Friday so let’s say between 9 and 16 days after exposure) and again one week after that.
-I remember by the time of the second testing I felt no sensitivity.
-Both sets of tests consisted of peeing in a cup and came back negative.
-At this point I felt great.
-Fastforward to the beginning of August. My regular partner gets a red itchy vagina she attributes to either a yeast infection or being very late taking “the pill” one Saturday.
-I didn’t do anything about it, and the itching and redness passed a couple of days before her period began. No bumps, no discharge.
-We did have unprotected intercourse throughout this. Sometime during her period week my original symptoms recur.
-Am I passing an infection back and forth? Or is this the result of masterbating a whole bunch (2-4 times daily) while she’s on her period?
-Now more than a week later my symptoms seem to be subsiding again. I feel some urethra pain, some sensitivity around the head of my penis, aching, no significant pain on urination. I feel my penis is leaking sometimes, but I do not detect discharge. I should say I thought I might have some clear sticky discharge one morning, but I can’t be certain it wasn’t pre-ejaculate from being erect.
-Could I have an NGU? If not, what else could it be? I've noticed some things on my penis but I do not think they're herpes or HPV, I think they've been there and I just didn't notice. One is at the meautus. Or would the pain from urinating be so much I would know? Could I be missing discharge? Is urethral pain while NOT urinating associated with NGU/urethritis?
-If it seems possible I have some form of urethritis or other STI what would best test for this? Obviously I’d rather know I a have an infection than just get treated as if I do have an infection because I want to avoid explaining that she needs to be treated. If I need to be swabbed and have a white blood cell count done, what is this test called and what type of doctor is best equipped to administer it?
-Or is this all psychological? I should say I’m a bit of a hypochondriac.
-Sorry this is so long! Thanks for the help.
