Can somebody help me please? This is the 14th day of my exposure. I still have fever, sores on my tongue, severe joint/muscle aches stomach ache and diarrhea despite the antibiotic treatment. What could this be? Which tests should I get and when to have accurate results? I need your guidance. Doctors here don’t really care.
Hi auntiejessie, I got tested for syphillis, hepatitis and HIV on the 10th day of my exposure but the doctor said it was too early to be sure of my status. I couldn’t get tested for gonorrhea but she decided to start an antibiotic treatment for it. She also said that i could be infected with HIV and this made me a little sad at that moment although you said it was impossible to get HIV with oral sex. I actually want to get your ideas about testing. When should I get tested for hepatitis and syphillis for an accurate result?
Hi again, I am sorry to keep you busy. It has been 9 days since my exposure. I wasn't too worried until yesterday but some new symptoms appeared. I still have a fever, fatigue and stomachache. Besides, I have muscle and joint pain (esp. on my knees, wrist and ankle). I also have a sore on the back side of my tongue that came out today. I have a burning sensation in my eyes (my eyes are red). I just gave an oral to my partner and he ejaculated my mouth. What could these symptoms be? I hope it is not HIV. Sorry for my English and thanks in advance for your help. I really need your ideas
If you have oral gonorrhea, you wouldn't have lower back pain, but that aside, I'd sure test.
The risks from oral sex are lower than with vaginal or anal sex, but I'd want to make sure he was actually cured, and that I didn't get anything. Also, if you are continuing to have sex with him, I'd ask him to test.
Make sure that they do an oral swab gonorrhea test for you, and not just a genital test. That's really important. If you've done more with him - vaginal or anal sex - make sure to get tested for that.
