Most likely, but it's really likely your partner never knew he had it, and had it before you started the relationship.

HPV clears from the body within 2 years for 90% of those that have it, and since you didn't have an HPV test in 2019, you won't ever know with 100% certainty that this came from your new partner, but chances are really good that it did.

By itself, it is not nearly enough to indicate cheating, though. HPV is incredibly common - it's estimated that up to 90% of us will get it at least once in our lives - and a lot of the time, we don't ever get symptoms.

The most important thing is following up and doing what the doctor is recommending for treatment.

i agree...chances are i got this from my current relationship...he did not know he had it..as men have no symptons with the strain we both have...i was told with my 2019 test No hpv dna criteria was met... so thats why no hpv test was done...if there was they would have automatically tested for it...as they test with reflux... your thoughts..
and when i tested positive i was with this man a year and a half....now when i went for my colposcopy my dr said..my  Pap test showed MILD cells and this ( from what i read) is still under the 2 yr clearing mark .

dr told me its either some thing new or something ive had a while..i think its some thing ive had for the yr and a half...he was with with some one probally 2 mths befor eme & he thinks he may have gotten it from her..my colposcopy didnt need a biopsy and he said he didnt see cells

Cervix: no visible lesions
Cervical biopsies/ECC not performed  this was from my colposcopy... your thougts? ( ty for answering my original question)
It sounds like things are fine now.

Are you trying to place blame on the guy you are seeing now? (Or to somehow use this as proof of cheating? -- I sure wouldn't go there.)
I think if you're just trying to figure out how long you've had it to figure out when you might clear it, it makes sense that it's your current guy.

I agree with Annie- I wouldn't use this as proof of cheating. Your current guy could have had it for a long time before you, and not known it.

Good news that you didn't even need biopsies. Do you go back for another pap in 3 or 6 months? Don't skip that. :)
he def was not cheating...my dr did a cotest on my 2019 test....the thin prep & it showed NO Hpv DNA so it didnt need to be tested further...so i agree with Auntjessi.....i got it from him, as this recent pap test also thin prep picked it up this time.he didnt know he had it.im not accusing
Good. Very few people ever win the blame game with HPV.

Make sure to keep your follow up appts, and we're here if you have any questions. :)
