Saliva and STDs

I am a 26 years old male. A few weeks back, I met a guy, and we got to mutual masturbation. He used his saliva as lubricant and spat multiple times on my penis. I am uncircumcised. I wasn't able to wash up thoroughly for around 30 mins. I asked him about his STD status. He said he's fine. But, he got tested a year ago and has been sexually active with multiple partners since then.

Exactly two weeks after that, I had a sore throat with fever (around 100), night sweats. It lasted about 3 days. I got very very stressed following those symptoms. I panicked and got an HIV test. It was negative, but it was just 2.5 weeks post-exposure, so not conclusive. It has been around a week to those symptoms and I still feel weak, and sometimes feverish. I feel guilty about what I did that evening, scared about possibilities of STD, and very stressed. I am unable to focus on work, and am loosing interest in social life. I read that some STD tests are not conclusive for around a month after exposure. So, cant get tested for another 2 weeks.

Please share your thoughts on any possible STDs I might have got from that incident. Or, its just baseless stress?

Hi Guy. Don't stress, HIV is not transmitted through saliva, but rather blood. So unless there was a significant amount of blood in his saliva you needn't worry about HIV. Hope that helps to relieve your stress a bit.
