Thanks AJ, I appreciate all of your replies. Your a total star.
Wishing you a wonderful day/week/month/year :)

Given that this encounter was only oral, I don't see a need for an HIV test.
However, if you think you will be anxious about it, then test. :)
Aj
Thanks for all the info AJ :)
Well, I had my results. All tests were negative, but I'm still having some symptoms but they are gradually dying down.
Noticably - aches and pains in my neck and groin, gastro-instestinal upset (which has SIGNIFICANTLY decreased since I've not been taking the antibiotics) and some tiredness.
She said she thought it a good idea to retest in three months "for my piece of mind" - I dunno, I suppose I should.
At least it's good to know I'm clear at the moment. I guess the chances that I have HIV from this incident (considering it was only once, and the other guy claims to have not had any sexual partners in the last two years) that I'm pretty safe to say I'm OK?
Think I should go back anyway? Or do you think it's unnecisary?
Thanks again, and sorry to bug you with such stupid questions (I'm sure most people think I'm a paranoid nut!!)
Cheers!
AN xx
Yes, NSU isn't always sexually transmitted.

Thanks again :)
Yep, your probably right. These symptoms did start immediately after and the next day, they appear to be subsiding now. (48 hours after)
I have one more question. IF the tests come back and show nothing, can NSU just happen from a bacterial (i.e. non STD type) infection?
I appreciate all your answers, your great :)
Thanks ;)

Hi there -
Yes, the things you are feeling are probably from the hep b shot and antibiotics. When did you get that? My side effects from the shot lasted about 36-48 hours.
Incubation period means the time from infection to symptoms. That could be a few weeks, but both will show up on a test within a week.
Aj
Thanks very much for your reply AJ, it's greatly appreciated. So thank you.
In reply to your questions...
1) The "at the time" test for Gonorrhea and syphilis were negative, but they said that there was an incubation period of 30 days, and I may have to be retested. I was tested for *everything* and the rest of the results are due back friday, although I'm not quite so scared about them now.
2) Your right, I shoulnd't assume things about people. It's wrong :/
3) Thank god for that and...
4) Sorry. To be clear, "sexual partner" also refers to "male freind" - I have only had oral sex with this one guy. Prior to this, I had a 10 year relationship in which I had no problems such as these ever. That ended. I got close to this freind, and so here we are :/ :(
Since posting this I have developed some other symptoms. Pain in my tummy, although I think this is from the antibiotics, and sharp pains in my groin. :(
I have also been feeling a little tired, and achey... However, I should also probably mention that I had a Hep B Injection, and I think these are probably side effects of that :/
I'm still worried, but not quite as much. I guess what will be will be in the end, but I'm more convinced it's nothing serious.
I regret it tho. I wont be repeating it in a hurry :/
Thanks again

Hi there -
The only things you can get from receiving oral sex are gonorrhea, syphilis, NGU, and hsv1.
It sounds like you have NGU, and your test results will tell you if you have gonorrhea.
Two years ago is a long time for tests, and you are right - he might have had 100s of partners since, or none - you don't know, so don't panic, ok?
HIV and HPV are non-issues here.
When you say "sexual partner" - are you referring to the male friend from a week ago, or a different person? If its a different person, and you have something, and have had sexual contact with him since, then yes, that person should be tested and treated.
