What does your son have to do with the poster's question?
I guess you're right!! My son has his Masters in Micro Biology and is the principle scientist for a major pharmaceutical Co.
"I'm not trying to be rude, but I noticed a certain odour around your vagina. Is it possible you've developed an infection like yeast or something?" reinforced with reassurances that you're not suggesting she has an STD or that she's "dirty".
"Womanly bits" get upset all the time, e.g. too dry, itchy, bladder infections, yeast infections from medication, birth control issues, and on and on and on... Women know this, even if they don't always know how to best handle it or receive news regarding it. If she's a reasonably mature woman, she'll care about her health and take the comment in stride. If you're a reasonably mature man, you'll be able to express very clearly that it's not a rejection of judgment but concern for her.
I still suspect BV in this case, as often the discharge is only noticeably during sex (which means the rest of the time there aren't any signs for her to become aware). So really, *not* telling her is worse disservice for her health in this case, than taking the chance of offending her.
Hello! how do you "nicely mention it to her" :-)
Yes men can carry yeast, but your genitals aren't conducive to an infectious environment - at least, not quite like the vagina is.
Fishy smell more likely indicates a bacterial vaginosis (BV) infection, which is slightly different from a yeast infection. It requires antibiotics instead of vaginal suppositories. In both cases discharge often accompanies the smell (cottage cheese white for yeast infections, whitish-grey for BV).
Next time you notice this, nicely mention it to her. In either case, she should get it treated.
if they have a fishy smell, it's probably from sweating. If they are very active, or if you were at a club and it's hot it can certainly cause that smell. It could also be improperly rinsing, if water and or soap is still up there or on there it can make it smell. Not drying off properly after a shower can also cause it. So it's normal, but you have to be with them long enough to tell them without hurting their feelings.
they werent on their period but thanx for the info...
Were the girls on their period when you had sex with them? If so, it's not really the smell of fish, it's the walls of their uteris decaying and coming out. You must understand that if you chose to have sex with a girl on her period, you are pretty much setting yourself up for some funky smells. Honestly, about the yeast infections, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
