Is it an STD (STI)

three weeks ago I received unprotected oral sex from a sex worker.  Soon afterward I noticed tingling and slight itchy in my scrotum and anus.  The tip of my penis was also sensitive.  My scrotum was very red also.  Since then my scrotum and anus have been itchy and I have a slight irritation when I urinate.  There is no visible rash.  I got an STD check a few days after because of symptoms but it was all negative.  I know that one that early is almost impossible to know for sure.  Soon afterward I had some cold or flu like symptoms that I don't know if they are related or simply me being sick.  Sore throat, headaches and fatigue.  Any thoughts?

Hello,
It is good that the STD panel has come out all clear. However it is important to rule out HIV and confirmation is only done by specific tests for HIV like western blot,PCR and ELISA.These tests may show accuracy after 6 weeks to 6 months as HIV antibodies take time to develop in the body. So get it done after 6 months also. Other than that it can be simple irritation of the skin.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
