Penis swelling

In the last 1 week, I had 3 marathon sex sessions (Saturday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night) with each lasting from 2-4 hours. Today is Tuesday and thus about 6 days from last sexual activity, though I tried masterbating, but lost erection midway.

My penis has a purple swelling on the corona and has a slight white color patch. I have lost desire to have sex and getting erection, but no desire to have sex or masterbate. There is no discharge or pain in testicles or anywhere. I do have a slight burning sensation from time to time, but it goes away fairly quickly. Should I be worried or it is just case a of excessive sexual activity.

Thanks Jemma. I have stopped using Lamisil and will apply Natural yoghurt.

I went to see the Doctor yesterday and he mentioned that he does not see anything really wrong. I did mention that I still have slight pain and have erection issues including pain post an attempt to have sex. It almost goes numb during sex and stayed that way for almost 2-3 hours, though I get morning erection this morning. It is just stressful, but guess time will heal it.

The Doctor has asked me to go through ultrasound, which should be done today. Hope all is good.

Kind regards,
Wallace

As I understand Lamisil is an antifungal cream.  If you do not have a fungal problem, the Lamisil is not going to be doing anything.

Natural yogurt for bruising and inflammation will help.

It is a good idea for you to be examined by your doctor so that you can get the correct diagnosis.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the response. There is no burning sensation, but pain at the base of the penis. I did try having sex today as I am getting normal erection, but lost it midway. Since then, the pain in the base of the penis has been there. The penis skin is totally normal with slight purple colour. There is no pain in the testicles. It could be bacterial infection?

I have stayed away from much of medication except Lamisil, but will see Doctor today. I just cannot find a good Doctor in Abu Dhabi, UAE and thus posting here.

It all started from lengthy sex sessions. I guess I just pushed myself and now paying the price for it. :(

A white patch with burning sensation (even without the white patch) is indicative of a fungal infection like Thrush and this would be treated by antifungal creams that are suitable for the genital area.

As you are experiencing pain in the base of the penis and when you are lying down,  I would advise you to see you doctor as you may have a bacterial infection and may need an oral antibiotic.  Getting pain in the testicles could also be an infection in the testicles or epididymis (the gland in between the testicles).  If you get those symptoms you will need a course of antibiotics.

As a home remedy for inflammation and burning sensation you can apply natural set yogurt to your cleaned genitals.  Do not use soap as this aggravates the delicate skin and changes the pH level.  The yogurt will help to cool and relieve the burning sensation, and also help to reduce inflammation.

Care needs to be taken with corticosteroid creams as this can thin the skin and not everyone can take Ibuprofen because it can affect the stomach.

My advice is to see your doctor.

Hope you are better soon.

Dear Doctor,

It has been almost three weeks and the penis is entirely without pain. The swelling has gone down a lot and I have started to get morning erection. If I lie on my stomach, the pain comes quickly. I have been applying Lamisil and it has helped.

I still see a bit of swelling, which lot less is still not gone. Except masturbating once, I have since avoided any friction to allow it to heal completely, yet the time this is taking slightly concerns me. Is this normal? Thanks.

Kind regards,
Wallace

Hi,

Thanks for the response. There is drastic improvement in my situation without taking any medication. Certainly I was anxious for a while. I did masturbate and experiencing slight pain post that. I will definitely be refraining from any stress for next 4-5 days as there is still slight pain. The swelling has come down and so has that patch. I will opt for mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen to heal completely.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This looks like trauma to the penis. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments.Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a doctor.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
