Red slightly raised shiny red spot

I have a red shiny slightly raised spot on the head of my penis. It is about the size of a small coin and is a deep red. I was wondering what this can be. I hope it is not herpes, but the skin is smooth and there is no blister or pain so I do not believe it is. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? Looking at the internet it looks slightly like pictures of candida or balanitis. Thanks for your answers in advance

A physical examination is important for confirming the exact cause of your symptoms. It is possible that it could be irritation from friction. Another possibility is balanitis which is inflammation of the glans penis.There is redness and/or a blotchy rash on the glans, sometimes with a discharge. Candidal infection, intertrigo; irritant dermatitis could also be possible. Treatment is antibiotics / antifungal treatment and improved hygiene depending on the exact cause. What you must be having is balanitis. In addition to the prescribed medicines, don’t use any cosmetics on the penis,instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin.Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. Avoid intercourse and masturbation till there is complete healing.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
