A friend was offered it after having an emergency C-section. But her husband said "no - she is too doped up on drugs right now to be able to make a wise decision about that." That should have been evident to the doctor though and shouldn't have even been suggested! Or is should have been talked over with the doctor beforehand.
So yeah - the answer is yes - it is something that I believe could be done after birth. But talk it over with your doctor.
Well LOL I was supposed to get this tubal, but now, as I found out I am pregnant, so i guess I wont be getting it for a year. So now, my question is: Has anyone have had a tubal after giving birth? I heard that initially after you have your child, the doctors can do a tubal right there for you.
Some patients complain of heavier cycles after tubal liagtion--You may consider talking with your doctor about having an ablation at the same time you have your tubes tied--this helps decrease bleeding and most people do not have a period at all after an ablation--just a suggestion--see what you gynecologist thinks.
