Vaginal Eczema

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years. We are both monogamous and have a sexual relationship.  We have always used Trojan latex condoms.  When we first started having sex, there was not any reaction.  Now, I start to get extreme dryness and a rash on my vaginal area after we use the condoms. There are no bumps or any weird discharge.  I thought it might be related to the condoms but was not sure.   Recently, we had sex several times with the condoms and the reaction is back more severely than it was before. I am pretty positive it is eczema.  I would like to know if this reaction will be temporary, and if there is anything I can do in the meantime to speed up the recovery.  This has been going on for weeks and I just don't know what to do anymore.  I guess I should mention that I also have eczema on my hands, if that helps any.  I would appreciate any helpful answers.  Thanks!

I just talked to my Dr. about vaginal eczema. I had never heard of it before last week. I'm very prone to eczema, it seems to be related to my gluten intolerance. She felt the vaginal eczema is probably related to it also since I started eating glutenous foods again and my eczema everywhere else flared up too. I'm not Celiac, just intolerant and much more sensitive to it than intially thought. I'm going gluten free again and I'm hoping it all clears up soon. Definitely worth talking to your Dr about. My skin allergies tend to react to refined sugar too.

I have vaginal excema also and have found that over time my body has become more sensitive to things like lubricants and condoms, i don't know why, it *****. my last bf and i ended up forgoing condoms altogether and that seems to work well for us. my doc recently told me i could try vasaline or olive oil as lubricants (even if my body was self lubricating sufficiently on its own) as they are anti-infammatories... or something. haven't tried either yet.

i use a topical cream and a type of hydrocortisone suppository nightly, your doctor may prescribe you somethign like that to deal with your symptoms. topical creams are a very common treatment.

as of late, intercourse, especially with condoms, seems to lead to a bacterial or yeast infection, are you having any problems like that as well?

as i've mentioned in other vaginal ezcema blogs, times when my ezcema was really acting up we just had to get creative with sex and aviod actual intercourse.

good luck
