wheres the bro code with lesbians?

i'm pissed. i hate that men dont respect the lesbian relationship. alright say i show up at a party and i'm like hey guys this is my boyfriend. every dude who sees that is gonna be like damn shes taken cant even try to hit that her boyfriend is right next to her. but when i show up with my girlfriend and i'm like hey guys this is my girlfriend. every guy hears that and gets excited and trys to hit on us harder. just because were gay dosnt mean your about to get a threesome. i hate men sometimes. why do men feel the need to hit on us all the time? i even had to convince one of my bestfriends that theres a bro code. even he still hit on her and asked for a threesome.

They aren't very good friends, you should explain how it makes you feel and how demeaning it is. If they don't stop then you should really think about if the friendship is worth it.

like i understand when a some random guy at a party that i'll never see again comes up and tries his hardest. it's even pretty funny sometimes. i'm just bothered by it when it's our friends. and like friends we have history with for some reason just feel entitled to a threesome.

I have to agree with a lot of what's being said.

I think a good friend and a good person in general will respect a relationship. Casual friends or jerks just wont.

Plenty of guys dont respect the "bro code" and I can't tell you how much more attention I get from women when they find out I'm in a relationship.

But yes, there's some idiots who see a lesbian couple and can't help but try to wrangle a threeway.

Some men in general are just like that. And it happens with heterosexual relationships too. I've said I'm in a relationship and the guy hits on me even more. I think with the lesbian relationships, guys have that fantasy of the threesome from watching porn or whatever and want to try it out. It's very disrespectful for them to continually keep trying, though you have to let it role off of you back. They are pretty desperate to keep trying and I'd say just laugh about it.

Just a thought.... I have a friend who is a lesbian and she says that even in alot of gay bars lesbians will not necessarilly respect a relationship between other lesbians..

Wierd side fact...   Domestic violence is higher among lesbians than any other pairing.

Good luck.

Because people are small minded, and they accept the stereotype that society has modeled from films like American Pie etc. People think lesbians are sexy, risky and experimental. No one really takes a lesbian relationship seriously because they just think its a sex thing.

Its totally justified that you are annoyed, because its very disrespectful. You have to accept you can't change how most of the world thinks and use this annoying thing as a positive. Its flattering that all these hopeless guys are lusting over you but they can never have you. All you can do is laugh it off (unless it's from close friends, in that case, you need to explain to them how disrespectful and upsetting it is. If they carry on after you've said them then I suggest no longer holding them closely as friends)

I agree with the thoughtful comments made in all previous posts.
As for the problems related to the efforts of guys to impress the girls and to hit on them all the time - yes, it can be bothering for girls, but at the same time it is bothering for guys if they have to be more active. It is still widely accepted that if a guy wants to get a girl, he has to be the active one and she will decide whether he succeeds or not. Would it really be more convenient for girls if guys showed no interest in them and there would be a role reversal in terms that a female should "fight" for the man she wants and he would not take any active steps except for saying yes or no? I don´t think so, but fortunately there is no point in these imaginary mind experiments as it is deeply rooted in our evolutionary history that it is the male who is more "aggressive" in the terms of mating strategies - within almost all animal species, as well as primates where homo sapiens belongs from the point of view of evolutionary biology.

LOL Don't let them bug you. You should feel some satisfaction that you & your girlfriend get to flaunt & deny one of mens' biggest fantasies like that. ^_^ Learn to ignore it & even laugh about it. Bro code doesn't always apply where women are involved anyways. Penswriter is right, a wedding band can have the same effect. It sounds silly, but sometimes guys lay it on even thicker when they don't stand a chance. It's part ego.

The thing is that for a normal hetero guy,  that kind of thing (female with female)  stirs a guys imagination to a frenzy, and a lot of times, me included (even though I'm an old man now),  a guy just cant help himself.  it's part of the underlying unconcious male mammal that rears it's ugly head from time to time in every guy even if they won't admit it.

I didn't know there was a bro code with lesbian lovers and I doubt many guys know that either - so you have to tell them.

I don't disrespect the lesbian relationship - it's just what every guy figures he can add to it that makes it attractive
