Zit like bump on rim of penis

2 days ago I had a small zit/pimple like bump on the rim of my penis on my circumcision scar.  It was originally very small and non-painful.  After masterbating I noticed it had popped and had discharged.  The next day it was very red, and also very painful to the touch.  It does not appear like a blister or rough skin like herpes or warts.  I think it is just an infected folicle or gland, but I am not sure.  I have had a cebaceous cyst on my chest before and I am familiar with those, but my understanding is that is an infected hair follicle.  This area of my penis has no hair so I don't think it is a hair follicle issue.  Can it be some type of epidermal or cebaceous cyst even though there is no hair follicle there?

I would definantly ask a doctor. It does sound like herpes and I can only say that because I have it and that is what my outbreaks sound and look like. I only get one sore during an outbreak and mine are they same way you are describing. I would talk to your doctor and if you dont have one there are always free clinics out there. If you need anyone to talk to or have any questions please feel free to email me. Good luck and keep us posted. Always remember 1 in 5  people have herpes so if that is what it is you are not alone.

It was probably a pimple. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it spreads or swells up, you should see your doctor.
