Yes, porn can be addictive. I was addicted to it at one point.

However, I think the question you need to ask yourself is how much time in your life do want to spend with porn. Is this the way you want to spend your time? For me, I think that anything is a better use of my time, such as socializing, exercising, work, school, etc.
"Pornified" is a good book about porn. It simply makes a bold statement that porn is a waste of time and we have better things to do with our time.

Most people who use pornography can do so without it becoming a problematic addiction (like alcohol, gambling, even junk food).  For a small number it can become an addiction, which can cause problems with relationships and marriages.  Also, if you spend too much time with your pornography and not enough time with real, normal girls and women, it can give you a bit of a distorted attitude about women.

My guess is that, if you are worried about it becoming an addiction, you need to stop completely.  Few true addicts can still have just a bit of what they are addicted to, their only hope of recovery is to stop completely.  Having said that, there was a time when I thought I was using porn more than I was comfortable with, and successfully cut down a lot without completely giving up, but I wouldn't say I was actually addicted.

Giving up porn completely does not mean you need to give up masturbating completely.  There's nothing wrong with that (particularly if you don't have a sexual partner).

I know it can be an addiction especially to those who have some sort of mental illness.- such as being Bipolar. Mood leveling medication is the best answer in that case.
