Indoor Tanning

Hi, I started indoor tanning about 3 months ago and I've had wonderful results so far. My psoriasis and eczema have cleared up, I have more energy, and my skin feels better than ever. My wounds and cuts heal much faster than before. Before tanning, I'd tried all the creams and lotions, went to several dermatologists, and it didn't help. Recently I read about the risks involved, like melanoma and other cancer. I really don't want to give up the tanning bed, but at the same time I worry about the consequences later in life. Is there a way to use a tanning bed safely? If it matters, I'm a 39 y/o Female.

No. And I wish there was because I was a tanning bed-aholic for 8 years, I'm 25, and I too have psoriasis. But I stopped because of a mole my dr. removed that when tested they thought it would eventually have turned into melanoma. And they had to take more skin from the area so now I have an ugly scar on my leg. The euro tanning beds that you only go three times a month call themselves the "safe" tanning beds, because they do not contain some certain UV light that causes burning...but they still contain the rays that lead to cancer. I had a long talk with my derm. about this. ;) Good luck w/ everything, I know it can be a tough decision! Spray tans work great though!
