Scarring from skin cancer surgery

I recently had skin cancer surgery on my forehead, about 1 1/2 inches long. I am wondering if anyone else has experience on what to put on it to lessen the scarring. Since it is in the middle of my forehead, I would like to have the least amount of scarring possible. I have been told vitamin C, which I am using, but thought maybe someone with actual experience might have a solution. Thank you!

thank you! I had thought about Mederma, but it was such a small tube for so much money and the pharmacist at the store basically said it wasn't worth doing.  That is why I posted here. I wanted to get a personal experience opinion. Thank you!

Mederma cream can be used after 6-8 weeks of healing.  I also have a thyroid scar from surgery which didn't heal as it should have ... Vitamin C, E and Mederma are helpful.  But be careful it isn't too soon after surgery because it can irritate the incision.

They make a generic Mederma cream at places like CVS, Walgreens that is much less $ .. my daughter had a 3" injury scar on her forehead when 3yrs old that a plastic surgeon fixed for her in the ER and today she is almost 11 and you can barely see it .. he intro'd me to the Mederma back then!
