How can I get Medicaid to pay for Adderall or Ritalin for Idiopathic Hypersomnia?

I was recently diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia after clearly abnormal sleep study results. My doctor prescribed Adderall and submitted multiple prior authorizations but Medicaid will not pay. We are trying Ritalin now, but it doesn’t look as though Medicaid will cover it. Is filing an appeal really a worthwhile option? What else can I do to get Medicaid to pay for this.
