Plz help - feel sleepy by day

Hi,

I'm becoming disordered and goalless having sleep problem for nearly 10 years. My life is ruining - I can't concentrate on my work in office. Please help.

I don't feel sleepy at night up-to 5am. I feel active and agile and my brain works nicely at around 10pm night. Then I can think, concentrate and work on any issue from 10pm to 5am. Started feeling sleepy after 5am and usually I take deep sleep up-to 12:30pm. On office day in day-time ( feel sleepy but can't avoid office ), I can't concentrate on works. Got sleepy in the meetings and works. Most of the time, I can't track meeting proceedings and decisions. It's keeping myself same position for a long time without a promotion. Urgently need your advice.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Leone

Hi,

Have you undergone a formal sleep study or polysomnography.  This will help diagnose your sleep problem.  I used to be very tired and sleepy throughout the day but then I would be more awake at night starting in the evening.  Even though I got 8 hours sleep I would still be tired/sleepy during the day and could not concentrate just like you.  I was finally diagnosed with mild sleep apnea/UARS (Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome).  I was shocked because I am young, thin and female.  I highly recommend the polysomnography - it will tell you how well you are sleeping.  Ask your primary care doctor to refer you to a sleep clinic so one can be scheduled.
