What is the lowest level of O2 saturation to begin oxygen therapy with someone that has sleep apena?

My patients oxygen level is 85% should i start oxygen therapy?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Less than 90% of saturation, therapy is indicated. It could be via a nasal catheter or a mask. The normal value is 95-100%. Oxygen therapy is continued till the underlying pathology is resolved and the oxygen levels are normalized.

Whoever measured your oxygen level should have immediately given you oxygen, unless you were not in a medical facility. 85% isn't good. It should be between 95-100%, maybe low 90's if you have a chronic medical condition that contributes to this low number (apnea). I would go to a physician quickly and get it retaken and ask the doctor about oxygen at night for your apnea.. Good luck and God bless.
