Nightmares and occasional night terrors

I have nightmares every single night and occasionally have night terrors. I wake up from them and end up staying awake for a few hours before I can finally fall asleep again. I am getting about 3 hours of sleep a night. I was prescribed lorazepam but the medication made me severely depressed. Is there anything I can do or take to get a good night sleep? I've gone to therapy and have practiced certain sleepy hygiene techniques such as working out about 6 hours prior to bed, no caffeine, muscle relaxation, breathing exercises and nothing has helped me sleep better or get rid of the nightmares. I've had them since October 2015 and it is now July 2016.
