10 years and two addictions!!!!

Im recently into day 7 of ct from vicodin for 2 years!! Thats going good.  I also smoke almost 2 packs a day for almost 10 years now.  My question is , do you think its safe to ct the cigs also since im having wd's from the vicodin!? I mean i really cant be any sicker or have any worse craving as i already do. Should i just stop while im already sick and just do the physical part of nicotine wd at the same time?  Or maybe wait until i feel up to the challenge.  Right now im mentally ready to stop smoking but im not sure my body is?

Hello and Congrads on getting of vic's! Great work!

I also came off of a nasty hydro habit. I really think the pills made me smoke more.
I quit cigs about 10 weeks ago. I waited until I was done with the w/d"s first.
I took the info I used to stop the pills and put it toward the cigs. Gotta tell ya it is harder for me to stop the cigs then the pills. 1 thing at a time.
Everybody is dofferent. If you feel you can then I would. Nictione only stays in the body for 72 hours.
Jade is right check out whyquit.com. Not the stories of people passing but the info stuff.

Good Luck.

Hello and congrats on your quit!  Yeah, this is a tough one.  W/d from pp's is rough, I know, but quitting cigs is really a whole new quit in itself.  Some of us here like to use whyquit.com, not only for education, but support as well.  To me, it's important to understand what you're in for with the smoking quit before you start, to insure success.  Quitting these habits are similar, but not quite... just in my opinion.

If you feel you are Really ready to stop smoking and never ever take another puff, then I say yes, go for it.  I think you should read up and prepare yourself first for it though.

I'm sure someone else will come along with more advice as I know a few people who have done both recently.

Very best of luck to you!
