Detect Mono During Incubation Period?

Hi everyone. A friend of mine came down with mono recently and the last time I saw him was about three weeks ago. There was a bunch of us there and we all share food and drink, I even did hookah with his girlfriend. My last exposure to this group of people was roughly 3 weeks ago. Last week I got tested and I was negative for mono. I know that mono has in incubation period before showing symptoms, however, I would like to know if it is possible to detect mono via a blood test even during this period of showing no symptoms. How early can mono be detected? Should I get retested?

Thanks Everyone

I found this:

A monospot test will identify a current infection. It will generally not be positive during the 4-6 week incubation period before the onset of symptoms. It will also not generally be positive after active infection has subsided, even though the virus persists in the some cells in the body for the rest of the carrier's life.

Now I am a little worried.
