Vision problems

hello my son is 12yrs old and for the past few weeks out of no where he has been experiencing symptoms where his eyes will start hurting then right after everything goes black and he says he can't see anything. It only last a few seconds and then his vision is clear. He has alwayas been a healthy kid and there has been no change in his diet and when it happens he is not doing anything active besides walking into a room, taking out the garbage, or taking a shower. I have taken his blood pressure after one episode and it was normal and he says he is not experiencing any headaches or pain anywhere else on his body, just his eyes start hurting right before an episode. He has had 2-3 episodes in a day. Don't know if I should take it seriouse or just something normal?

Make sure you are seeing an Opthomologist (a medical doctor) as opposed to  an optometrist (who checks you for glasses). He needs to see a medical doctor.
