Im also wondering what prevents a cyst from occuring? I need any advise you got on this subject.
Wow, a lot of guys seem to have the same complaint. I'll answer you directly and hopefully the other guys will read it as well.
The most common cause of a dry, red, itchy scrotum (sounds sexy, doesn't it girls?) is a condition called tinea cruris. This is a harmless problem that's closely related to athlete's foot. It's caused by a fungus that's relatively simple to get rid of.
First, what causes it? Well, as I said it's a fungus. Now there are three things that fungi really, really love - warmth, moisture and darkness. Anywhere you have these three things it's a perfect environment to grow. Let's think about your toes for a minute. It's dark (they spend most of their time in shoes and socks), it's warm, and there's moisture (sweat). All it takes is to be exposed to the fungus and you've got the perfect breeding ground. (The most common way to pick it up is from a shower floor that a lot of guys use - thus the name athlete's foot).
Now, let's look at your scrotum. (Well, not literally, but you can if you want). It's dark (it spends most of it's time in your undies), it's warm, and there's moisture (sweat). Again, perfect breeding ground for this fungus. You can easily pick the fungus on your hands and transfer it to your scrotum when you touch it. (And I hope you're touching it at least once a month when you do your testicular self-exam. What's that, you say? That's another post and answer). When you have it on your feet it's athlete's foot. When you have it on your scrotum it's called many things - jock itch, crotch rot, etc. The technical name is tinea cruris. (On your feet it's called tinea pedis).
It causes your scrotum to get red, itchy and irritaed. Add to that that they're usually rubbing up against the inside of your thigh and that makes it worse. So, how do you get rid of it? Well there are ointments that do a great job killing the fungus. You can find them in any drug store (no prescription so you can buy it on your own if you're embarrased). The ointment is the same for athlete's foot and jock itch (it actually says that on the package) so you can buy either one. Just apply it daily after your shower.
In the meantime, there are some things you can do to make it less than the perfect breeding ground. First, make sure you wash your scrotum every day with plenty of soap, and rinse well. (If it's really inflamed this might burn a little at first, but it's necessary). Also, wearing boxers instead of briefs allows your testicles to hang away from your body so there's less heat. It also keeps them from rubbing against your thighs so much. And remember to wear clean ones daily.
Finally, the original poster with the same problem said he had been using acne cream and styling gel as a lubricant for masturbation. Well, acne cream works by drying out your skin! Duh. Not such a good lubricant. Styling gel? Have you ever used gel in your hair and by the end of the day it's hard as a rock? Because it dries out! Not such a good choice either. (Plus, if you ever got either one of these in your pee-hole (meatus) they burn like hell. Same with shampoo. Um, somebody told me). The best thing is a lubricant made for this purpose such as K-Y or Vaseline, although Vaseline is greasy and harder to wash off. At least both of these are made to use in your groin area. But no matter what you use, make sure you wash it off (including your scrotum as some will surely run down there) when you're done.
I should also add that if you don't do anything to get rid of this it can spead to your thighs and I've even seen it spread all over some guys' buttocks. Obviously it's much harder to get rid of at that point. Just do the things above and you problem should be gone in a week or two. Good luck.
My ball sack is dry and wrinkly. What should I do?
i have red lumps all over my ball sack an it burns and when i touch it hurts like hell what can i do to make it go away?
Daniel never use that stuff as lube. Do you know how many chemicals are in those types of products??? Not good to put them on an area like your balls. It's most likely severe drying of the area as that's what acne creams do (dry out your face) and hair gel.
Go buy some moisturizer (scent free) or regular old vasilene to use as lube - and when you do buy it put some on your balls to bring back some of the moisture and NEVER use that other stuff again.
Cus - it could be anything, a cyst, a wart, a pimple who the heck knows - if it's not always been there you NEED to go to the doctors and get it looked at, asap. It could be something easily treated or removed and I'm sure that would make you feel better - leaving it be is the worst thing to do so go to the doctors.
i have found a big white spot on my ball sack, i only now have noticed it and i am prity scared it could be cancer. i have tryed 2 squeez it but it seems solid and it hurts its like when you sit on your balls lol.
thank you for any feedback
