Testicular cancer?

So yesterday morning I felt a pain in my groin. So I when I got home I did a self examination and found a bump on my testicle near the oval area. It's painful but the pain has diminished somewhat though the bump is still there. I'm 23 yrs old btw. Could this be a cause for concern or should I just let it be? I'm really thinking about going to the Doctor tomorrow and see what he says. The bump itself is raised and is the size of maybe a tiny pebble.

I went to the doctor dismissed testicular cancer and told me it was most likely a torsion by my epididymis and that it would eventually go away. The Doctor I went to was a Urologist so he specializes in this stuff. He said if hasn't gone away or has grown to come back and he would have a Ultrasound done in 5 days. It's been well past five days the bump is still their but it has shrank considerably and I think with time it will eventually go away.

Well the possibility of cancer is always there, but less likely. However there are other common causes like orchitis or inflammation of testicles, varicoceles (an abnormal enlargement of the veins draining testicles), hernia, hydroceles (clear fluid accumulated in the tunica vaginalis layer), and spermatoceles (retention cyst of the head of the epididymis), which can all cause testicular lumps that are painful. Torsion of testis is another possibility but this causes a very painful lump.
Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!

Can anyone please help me I'm going crazy here thinking about the worst case scenario and preparing myself to hear the news that I have Cancer. It's truly making me scared nervous and anxious. The bump is firm and I think it's a tumor and I called the doctor office but they can't get me in. Seriously thinking about going to the ER. .

The pain has mainly gone away and the bump it seems like has gone down a tiny bit in size. I have not gone to the doctors yet but I will soon.

Btw it only hurts when you touch the unknown bump. I checked my other testicle and could not find any bumps similar to the one on my right testicle.
