TSH number in the high normal range (3.9) and T4 in the low normal range (.9) but antibody test >150 and 3 nodules found on ultrasound with the biggest being .7cm.

Endo doc says not to worry if less than 1.0cm, I hope she's right.
Put on synthroid to shrink them or stop growth.  Will have a new ultrasound in 6 mo.

Been on Meds since March 15th, only a few weeks.

Joined forum in March.

Great place to learn and such supportive people here in the forum.

Newly diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I know I have had it for many years though and this was not tested.

Started out on 30 mg of Armour THyroid, called my dr after 2.5 weeks still seeing no change, dosage was increased to 60 mg.

I am going to make it one of my missions to inform people about the symptoms of hypo and the new lab ranges.

I am so glad to be here with people who can understand what its like to go through this.

Thyroid Condition: Multinodular goiter w/3 very large nodules (do not have measurements) ; labs normal.

FNA: Suspicious for papillary carcinoma, one w/follicular variant

GP discovered englarged thyroid during routine physical in October '07.  Ultrasound October '07, uptake scan December '07, surgical consult January '08, FNA (cells & tissue) February '08, initial TT scheduled for 03/13/08  - hospital canceled the night before.
TT scheduled for Monday, April 7.  VERY nervous.

Endo gave me Cytomel (25 mg (I think) twice daily) for after the TT but before RAI.  Nuclear med/RAI consult 04/16 - they now use Thyrogen!  Then I will go on Synthroid after RAI.

Thyroid Condition:    Papillary Carcinoma with Follicular Pattern

Total Thyroidectomy - 11/29/07 / 15mm nodule upon surgery, cancer fully engorged in right and left sides (oddly not in middle), in one lymph node and attached itself to my Trach.

1/3/08 - RAI (170 millicures)

1/10/08 - Full Body Scan (shows only cancer in neck ~ woo hoo).

Your Current Meds:  Synthorid 150 mcgs

Your Current Labs:   TSH .04, T3 1.87, Tg: unknown

Feel great and I have not gained weight.  Looking forward to a total cure and a few good years without worrying about cancer.
