FREE T 4 results

My Free T4 result is 10.2 and my TSH is 1.44. I have most of the symptoms of hypothyroidism as well as severe night sweats.

I have not been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Is it possible I could have it with these results?

Recently they found a 1.8cm nodule in my right thyroid. I had an ultrasound guided biopsy and the results is some cell change. They are removing half of my thyroid for a more detailed look.

Hi Gimel,
Thank you so much for your speedy reply. It was interesting to note the information on Vit D levels and B12 levels. I have had a course of injections in recent years to improve my B 12 levels as they were too low and also a course of Desunin 800 IU because my Vit D levels were so low. Noone has suggested I might have hypothyroidism despite my highest thyroid Free T4 reading in the past 4 years being 12.6

Based on reference ranges we typically see for Free T4, I expect that your Free T4 is at the very bottom of the range which would be way too low.  Free T4 and Free T3 results that are in the lower part of their ranges most often result in hypothyroid symptoms.  You should make sure they always test you for both Free T3 and Free T4 each time you go in for tests.  Since hypothyroid patients are frequently too low in the ranges for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin, you should also make sure to get those tested as well.
