I Need Help urgantly

Hello Doctor,
                     This is Manoj Kaushik, i am a 21yrs male TSH Positive it's level is 7.31, now i am taking thyorx-25mg daily before Breakfast from last 9 days at present my weight is 99kg. so plz tell me that thyrox-25mg is suitable me or not. this salt (thyroxine) will be help me or not for lose my weight. please reply me as soon as posibal

your T4 Thyroxine meds is not the cure for weight loss.

It takes some time to build up the proper dosage of any medication.  I am on 175 MCG of Synthroid (I built up to this level over the course of a year), it took almost 9 months for me to feel normal on the medication and within the last 3 months I started to loose weight as had been initially hoped by my doctor.  Best wishes.  Steve

This is the patient forum. Dr Lupo is on the expert forum.
25mg daily is a good start, but you should be retested in 6 weeks. It is very important to at least have a free t4 done with your TSH, and preferably best if you also have a free t3 done as well. Thyroxine is not a salt tablet, it is a thyroid hormone. At this point in your  treatment, I would try to not focus on weight loss.....just getting your levels optimal. Eventually the weight will come off if you eat responsibly and exercise accordingly, and take your thyroid meds as prescribed by your Dr.
