I give up now they say I am hyper....

Ok waited a month to see this doctor he is supposed to be good...so not true!

Based of my old labs because my tsh is suppressed I am now hyper and TSH is the best most accurate way to test the thyroid.  FREE T3 T4 mean nothing because they bind  to protien and flucutate.

I am so super disapointed he argued and argued with me but more just talking over me would not listen to what I was saying and gave me the "well I'll give you that" on one of things I told him.

I asked him to just perform the other blood tests I wanted done so I can see where those are at and see if I need to see a specialist.  Argued and argued that revearse T3 does not exist.

Argued that just because I feel good does not mean I am good not unless my numbers say so.

So hopefully I get what I asked for this time and I can figure it all out for myself once again.

I give up I will continue to treat myself with the little help of my ob atleast he does not argue much with me. Just freaks out when he see's my TSH suppressed.

I turned to the student what he has learned about TSH he fumbled for words the doctor says he is just a first year med student.  Well after how common he told me hashimotos is maybe they should be teaching these first year med students about it!

yes forever i have learned that the one who are supposed to be good sometimes are not so good.  i wish they d get this all figured out and get on the same page- we have enough to contend with. i really like my dr but recently found out that she doesn t really know how to treat with t6 meds- so i am treating myself. it gets lonely and risky.  i feel your pain loud and clear.

The Dr. is wrong. The Frees (FT3 and FT4) are not protein bound - that is why we use them.  Total (t3 and t4) are protein bound and useless.

You should be medicating based on FT3 and FT4.  It is not unusual for TSH to be suppressed during therapy with thyroid meds.

Oh dear!  Yes, go back to your obe.  Just reassure him you have no hyper symptoms..... HR low, BP fine, etc. etc.

Best wishes.
