High antibodies - normal tsh & ft4

Help,
I recently lost my voice for a couple of days.  I also thought for sure I had something stuck in my throat.  All of this lead to an UltraSound that read: Heterogeneous echogenicity noted throughout both lobes. There is a 1.5cm long right thyroid hypoechoic nodule and another on the left of 1.6cm.  Innumerable ill-defined smaller nodularity to the remainder of the thyroid.  Conclusion is Multinodular thyroid.

My TSH and ft4 all came out great execpt for thyroid antibodies came out pretty high? I've done research and there is nothing conclusive.  It doesn't seem to be Hashi's or Graves.

Any ideas?  I've been put on a list to see an Endo.  Could take 6 months to a year.

Many thyroid sufferers have nodules and in the case of Graves, they actually produce hormones in addition to the thyroid. The levels you posted cannot be evaluated without the reference ranges provided with them, each MD or Lab has reference ranges that go along with the levels. I am just not familiar with the levels since you are not in the US. But if your MD has the nodule description, he must have had an ultrasound done, I had nodules indicated also on my ultrasound, with Hashimotos, it is not something unusual to discover.
I don't know you stated it does not seem to be Graves or Hashi's, because High Anti-bodies indicates that it is one or the other, The TSH is not a thyroid hormone, it is a pituitary hormone, You need to get The Free T3 and Free T4 to see where your with your thyroid, a high T3 T4 would indicate Graves, and a low of both would indicate Hashimoto's

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly here in Canada free health care comes on a wait list.  I'm actually worried about the 1.5 and the 1.6cm nodules. If it's any help, here are all the lab results I've received so far.
TSH: 4.15
FT4: 13.3
Thyroglobulin Antibody: 486
Thyroid Peroxidase Ab: 142

Hope this helps and I apreciate the communication

High Antibodies is an indication of Auto-Immune disease ie Graves or Hashimoto's, also the fact that nodules exist. You should insist your MD do a Free T3 test, which should determine your thyroid situation, since Free T3 is the actual thyroid hormone your body needs to function, and along with the Free T4 will tell the story. The TSH is a pituitary hormone and not a Thyroid hormone. Why would you be forced to wait a year to see an Endo? It is clear you have an auto-immune issue and you should be treated accordingly
It is most likely the enlarged thyroid that is causing your voice issues, which I have had with Hashimoto's,  Get the Free T3 and Free T4 retested and post the results here including the reference ranges provided for each, you have thyroid issues and you need to determine if you are Hyperactive(Graves) or Hypoactive (Hashimotos) and be treated for either condition. Good Luck FTB4
