Hypoactive thyroid and RLS

Have had Restless Syndrome for 25+ years.  Had hyperactive thyroid nodules and this summer had RAI treatment to shut down the nodule.  Recent blood test shows that my actual thyroid is also starting to shut down and my risk of being hypothyroid is very high.     I read that Hypothyroid disease can cause Restless Leg Syndrome.  Since I already have RLS, will I have to look forward to an increase in the severity of my RLS???  I am very worried.  I take Requip (ropinirole) for RLS but it is not a total relief of it.  RLS is hell as you dread going to bed, you dread movies, you dread airplanes as you know that your legs will instantly start to ache and you will have the compulsion to constantly move them to relieve the discomfort.   Requip takes about an hour to work but it all depends on how your day was (ie, diet, exercise, stress levels, etc.) as to whether you will get complete relief or not.

Also, another thyroid question - looking into increasing my calcium and VitD intake with supplements.  What are the recommended dosages to take and are there any concerns taking these supplements when you have a thyroid condition?

Thank you.  That helps me alot.  I'll check with my doctor too - see her in a couple weeks - but at least I know that it is possible.  She can let me know, hopefully, about the effects, if any, on my RLS.  Such a frustrating condition.

Dont know about the rls but on the calcium, My doctor said that I can take calcium one hour after I eat, take thyroid first thing in the morning and wait an hour to eat. that only means 2 hours after I take thyroid, but I also read on synthroid list not to take calcium for 4 hrs after taking synthroid. I take one caplet in am and one in pm for calcium, and 600 mg calcium and 400 D.
