I HAVE THYROIDITIS AND A PSVT

i HAVE RECENTLY BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH THYROIDITIS. i DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW i GOT IT BUT IT IS REALLY FRUSTRATING ME. i WAS ALSO DIAGNOSED WITH PSVT A HEART CONDITION WHICH EVEN MAKES ME MORE UPSET. i AM TAKING 180 MG OF VERAPAMIL AND 3 X DAILY 15MG CARBIMAZOLE.
I SUFFER GREAT ANXIETY ABOUT ALL MY SYMPTOMS AND SOMETIMES I THINK OFHURTING MYSELF TO RID THE EMOTIONAL PAIN.
IS IT COMMON TO BE FEELING THIS WAY WITH THYROIDITIS / HYPERTHYROIDISM?
COULD I POSSIBLY DIE FROM FROM THE COMBINATION OF PSVT AND THYROIDITIS? BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT FEELS LIKE I AM.
CAN I TAKE ANY VITAMINS TO HELP STABALIZE THE HORRIDNESS OF IT ALL?
AND WOULD THEY HELP?
HOW DO I PUT ON WEIGHT WHEN EVERYTHING I EAT GOES STRAIGHT THROUGH?
IVE ASKED DOCTORS BUT THEY CAN NOT ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.
ITS SO FRUSTRATING.
IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO IS LIVING WITH A THYROID DYSFUNCTION AND AN SVT?
BECAUSE IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW THAT IM NOT ALONE.

I know this is easier said than done, but try to calm down.  PSVT has an emotional element and the more you obsess about i, the more likely it is to occur.  I know, I've had it all my life.  The good news is that it's very rarely life threatening...definitely an inconvenience, but basically benign.

I'm on a beta blocker, too.  I'm hypo, but since starting thyroid therapy, the PSVT has gotten a lot worse.  I don't know which I prefer - the hypo symptoms or the PSVT!

You are definitely not alone...I get discouraged at times, too.  I'm trying a new endo tomorrow to see if he can help me manage thyroid dysfunction and PSVT at the same time.  I'll let you know how he does.

Have you seen an electrophysiologist?  He's a cardiologist  specializing in electrical abnormalities of the heart.  I went to one who was truly disgusting, but then found another who seems pretty reasonable.

There's also a technique or "exercise" that you can do to stop the PSVT (once it's started).  Let me know if you're interested, and I'll describe it.

I know these two conditions fight each other, and it cqn be very discouraging, but hang in there...there is a solution.

Hi! I am borderline low hypothryoid, have thryoiditis  and PSVT too It was REALLY bad this past  two years, but now that I am getting my thyroid meds stabalized it is gettting SO much better.
I suggest you talk to your Drs... if they don't help you find another one who will. Trust me, I have been thru  4 Endos and on 3 cardiologists before I finally started getting some help.
Find a electrophysicist cardiologist, they specialize in PSVT. Also one thing that has helped me greatly.... biofeedback and a counselor... someone to talk to and help me thru the tough times. It is a hard road, but you CAN start feeling better- I know - I have was in your place for TWO years. I finally am just now starting to feel better.
Hang in there, keep fighting for your health!! Best wishes , keep us posted!

All I can tell you is that it is a long waiting game.  Have they put you on any antithyroid meds?  I am not in your situation, but I would get a second opinion from an endocrinologist as well as a cardiologist.  There are many of us here that have felt the same way and are trying to cope.  Have you asked about antianxiety meds?  A lot of us have to be on them just to get through the day.  You are definitely not alone.  Thoughts of ending it all are common to us when we feel so out of control and when we have no way to control the situation.  I would ask about getting your hyperthyroidism under control with medication.  There are those on antidepressants, also.  You might ask about that.  I am sorry you are feeling so terrible, but like I said, you are not alone.  Don't give up.  Keep after your doctors to give you answers.  If they don't, find someone that will.  There are ways to cope with this ****. so keep trying.  I wish I could be of more help.
