I totally agree with AR-10. Not all doctors go by the new ranges for TSH but are still using the old ones. You should seek a second opinion and even a third one if you need to. Sometimes it takes awhile to find a doctor who wants to treat the patient and not just the numbers. Hope this helps.

Depression and anxiety can be brought on by thyroid problems, and you have a problem with an anti-body count of around 3,000.
I would ask for a copy of all your blood tests related to your thyroid and post the results here.
There is "normal", and then there is what your body wants and needs. A TSH of 4.0 can look "normal" on a blood test, and still be too high for your system. You can exhibit symptoms of Hashimoto's and still have blood tests come back "within normal limits".
You might benefit from a second opinion.
