Thyroid is still swollen and neck is hurting more than before

This last summer I found out I have a cyst on my thyroid.  The doctors did an ultrasound and lab work. My levels were normal. I went for a second ultrasound last month and the cyst got .2 by .2 cm bigger.  No blood work done this time.  But, the day after the ultrasound my thyroid was swollen and hurt a little.  That was the 19 when it got swollen.  Ever since my thyroid has stayed swollen and it is starting to hurt more and longer.  Right now I do not have any insurance or anything, but as soon as I do I am going to get a second opinion unless my doctor does more test.  Please feel free to leave any advice, it would be very much appreciated.  Kristina.

The only reason why I am concerned, is because of what I went through. My doctor ran every test you can think of because he wanted to make sure. I am glad that he did.  Is this really a cyst? If it is and it's causing pain, you should have it looked at again. I had 3 tumors and there was no swelling after a ultrasound. I'm just baffled I guess. Just hope they are right. Would not want to see you diagnosed wrong.

There is only one hospital where I live. I am going to apply for assistance next monday, I have a busy week this week. I thought I was being to concerned, because no one else is to concerned. Thank you.

You might want to check where you live if there are any hospitals/clinics that treat people without insurance. I know that we have one that will take you free of charge if you are unable to pay. But I think you have to apply for assistance and must be in a low income bracket. But one thing is for sure, you need to be further tested. If you are having pain and swelling, something does not seem right. And plus it has increased in size, I would be concerned. You really need to be tested further, that's just my opinion.
