Please click on my name and then on my personal page, scroll down to the bottom left and read my journal. Then please read the one page overview for a paper on diagnosing and treating hypothyroidism, from a patient's perspective. Note there is also a link to the full paper.
You have many symptoms that are frequently associated with hypothyroidism, so I strongly suggest that you take that one page paper to your doctor and insist on being tested for Free T3, Free T3, cortisol, Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin. If he resists then give him the paper and ask him to read and reconsider. If you cannot get him to do the tests and treat clinically, by optimizing all those tests, then you are wasting your time with him. Do you think you can get this done?
From what you are describing you sound hyper from the increase. When I'm hyper I can eat a whole pizza and still can eat more lol. I'm not a normal case due to "issues" with my cells so if I'm hyperthyroid one day I can be normal or hypothyroid the next day. I think generally speaking it can take up to 2 weeks for hyperthyroid symptoms to resolve once you stop medication.
I'm not sure how you would resolve this issue. Perhaps you may do better on natural desiccated thyroid hormone.
Whenever people have strange reactions to thyroid med it is worthwhile to test for cortisol and also ferritin. Have you been tested for those?
